Complementary and alternative therapies

Treatments such as acupuncture, homeopathy and orthomolecular medicine fall under complementary and alternative therapies. Complementary and alternative therapies often have a different approach to physical complaints than we know from regular medicine practised by GPs, physiotherapists and specialists.

The starting point of regular medicine is that care is based on scientific evidence. In complementary and alternative therapies, this is often not (or to a lesser extent) the case. Sometimes the line between between them is very thin. There are also doctors and therapists from regular medicine who apply complementary and/or alternative therapies.
br>Complementary and alternative therapies are not a substitute for regular medicine. Nevertheless, it can sometimes serve as support in the treatment of physical complaints. It is advisable to do this always in consultation with the GP or specialist.
